Udos Choice Alternative Sports Personality of the Year Awards

In response to the BBC’s male dominated nominations for the Sports Personality of the Year Awards, we thought that it would be a nice idea to hold an ‘Alternative’ Sports Personality of the Year Awards in order to recognise the top performing female sporting athletes of 2011 - so  we have selected the following athletes who we think deserve to be short listed.

The winning athlete will be selected by you so please browse the following summary of their 2011 achievements and place your vote at the bottom of this page. Once you have voted you will see how each athlete is fairing. Voting is open until 29th February 2012.

This competition is just a bit of fun but the serious point it demonstrates is the breadth and depth of female talent we have in Great Britain and we will let the winner know that you have selected them.
