An interview with Flavio Zappi

Udo’s Choice are proud to announce their sponsorship of Pro cycling team Zappi’s Cycling.  Zappi’s Pro Cycling is a relative newcomer into cycling circles having only been formed in 2010.  However, already, even with limited budget, it has been punching above its weight by competing on a par with some of the top teams on the UK circuit.  Not only have the last couple of years seen exciting developments in the team but the future promises to be even more so, not only for the Pro team of 6 young riders but for the Zappi Cycling Club as a whole.

Cain Leathem, top UK Fitness trainer and director of GB Fitness, took two British athletes to the WBFF European Bodybuilding and Fitness Championships in November. Nothing unusual in that asCain has been advising and mentoring champions since 1994! The two people with him in Rekjavik were 50 year old, lifetime natural bodybuilder Paul Daley from Nottingham and Rhian Adams-Jones, a Miss Wales beauty pageant winner, Miss Wales Toned Figure Cahampion and international rugby player.

Double Award Win for World Champion Helen Jenkins

Congratulations to two time world champion Helen Jenkins who has been recognised for her outstanding performance this season at the British Triathlon Annual Awards, being named British Olympic Athlete of the Year alongside male world champion Alistair Brownlee.

The prestigious award rounds off an exceptional season for Helen who finished the year winning her second World Champion title in Beijing in September – earning Jenkins a place at the London 2012 Olympics.

Jenkins also won the Female Elite Triathlete of the Year award.

The two time World Champion is one of only four women to win two world championship titles. Helen has shown considerable consistence over the series of 7 races and is one of only 4 women to win 2 world championship titles. The Winners have been announced for this year’s Udo’s Choice Triathlon Race Series, a series of five triathlons which take place across Yorkshire and Humberside. Points were awarded to the first 49 finishers in each event. 50 points for 1st place, 48 points for 2nd, 47 points for 3rd, and so on, down to 1 point for 49th place. Alongside this, competitors also scored 5 bonus points for each of the events entered.

Congratulations to Udo’s Choice ambassador, Britain’s Helen Jenkins, who finished 1st at this weekend’s Dextro Energy Triathlon ITU World Champion Series – her first gold since her world title win in Vancouver in 2008.

Helen came out of the swim in 14th place, 13 seconds behind the leader, caught up during the bike leg to complete that section in 11th position but then powered her way through the run to win by 7 seconds, despite having struggled with a cold all week. She was thrilled to be standing on top of the podium, which included new first-time medallist Gwen Jorgensen and Anja Dittmer.

Congratulations once again to Udo’s Choice ambassador, Britain’s Helen Jenkins who finished 2nd at this weekends Kitzbuhel leg of the ITU Triathlon World Championship Series – her second 2nd place finish in consecutive races behind Canada’s Paula Findlay.  Findlay finished just 4 seconds ahead of Helen who is showing incredible consistency and speed after injury set her back in her first two races of the season.

Helen Jenkins 2nd in Madrid

Congratulations to Udo’s Choice ambassador, Britain’s Helen Jenkins who finished 2nd at this weekends Madrid leg of the ITU Triathlon World Championship Series.  After injury during her first race of the season Helen has made a strong recovery to push Paula Findlay of Canada all the way during this race to finish just 3 seconds behind her.

The Series moves on to beautiful Kitzbuhel in 2 weeks time and we will look out for Helen’s results and let you know.
