Microbiotic supplements should be taken on a full stomach (just before or with food ), thus minimizing gastric acidity levels and allowing for a safer passage of the bacteria to the intestines.


Only a small number of micro-organisms can survive low acidic pH and that the stomach's pH is as low as 1.0-2.0 on an empty stomach and goes up to pH 5.0-6.0 levels immediately after food. In order to restore or maintain healthy intestinal flora, probiotics strains should be able to at least survive in a pH 4.0 gastric solution for a period of 3 hours without suffering concentration loss (as Udo’s Choice’s strains do).
