About Udo’s Choice Beyond Greens
A blend of certified organic greens, which includes fermented grasses, green vegetables, superfood algae and seaweeds; including spirulina and chlorella. A variety of digestive herbs such as ginger root, cinnamon bark and liquorice root have been added, as well as fibre from flax, sunflower and sesame seeds. The grasses (barley, oat, wheat and alfalfa) have been fermented with Lactobacillus plantarum and Saccharomyces boulardii; this fermentation process is like pre-digestion along with nutrient enhancement and shelf-life preservation. The good bacteria help break down the fibrous cell walls of greens and vegetables leading to less chance of indigestion, gas and bloating.
Udo’s Choice Beyond Greens is a certified organic product, guaranteeing that the ingredients have been grown free from harsh chemical involvement. It is also completely vegan. It contains 10 different greens, with each 8g portion coming from 33g of fresh, raw greens.
Udo’s Beyond Greens contains a fermented grass blend of Wheat Grass, Barley Grass, Alfalfa Grass and Oat Grass. Fermenting grasses is highly beneficial, and can increase nutrient absorption through ease of digestion. The grasses themselves are nutrient dense, containing a wide range of phytonutrients.
Greens are not just full of vitamins and minerals, but are also a great source of antioxidants, fibre and naturally occurring digestive enzymes, and low in sugar. Broccoli, Kale and Rye grass, help increase daily vegetable intake, and are high in nutrients such as Iron, Calcium, Vitamin K, and Vitamin C.
Algae and sea grasses, like Spirulina, Chlorella and Dulse, are packed full of phytonutrients, and could be considered ‘natural multivitamins’. Algae can boast an impressive nutritional profile, containing fatty acids, natural enzymes, a high percentage of protein, along with nutrients such as B12, Vitamin A and Iodine.
Grass juice powder, rather than grass powder, contains more nutrients per gram because the fibre has been separated by the juicing process. This means that nutrients are highly absorbable and digest much quicker.
Ginger, Cinnamon and Liquorice are included to aid digestion. They also, along with added almond and vanilla flavours, increase the general palatability of the greens, creating a smooth tasting blend.
The blend contains both soluble and insoluble fibre, with 3g fibre in every 8g serving. Fibre is present not only within the green vegetables, but also in the form of de-fatted flax, sunflower and sesame seeds.
The blend of all the above ingredients results in a product that is high in Vitamin K, B12, Iron, Folic Acid and Iodine, with each 8g servings containing enough fibre and nutrients to equate to 2 servings of organic vegetables.
How to use:
