This weekend sees the return of the Udo’s Choice Beverley Triathlon with 250 competitors confirmed – a 30% increase in participants from last year.

Names to look out for are Andy Martin who came third last year and who came 2nd at Driffield and 4th at Allerthorpe already this season missing the podium by just 12 seconds.

Others to keep an eye on are:

Emily Legg who finished 1st in the female Youth race at Allerthorpe on 20th June

Jane Hamp who came 2nd at Allerthorpe in the F50 race

Will Kaye who won the M40 category at Driffield this year and came 5th overall at Beverley last year.

David Davies won last year’s M60 race at Beverley and competes again this year to retain his title.

Craig Beech and Kevin Moment are competing again this year after finishing 1st and 3rd in the M40 category at Beverley last year.

Lets hope the weather stays fine for the day - we are bouned to see some great racing with this field and i will be reporting back next week with a race report.  Please come along and support the participants - these are tough events and they need all your support if you are in the area.

After Beverley the final race of the season is at Allerthorpe for the Classic distance race - details can be found at www.freebirdevents.co.uk.
