The first of the Udo’s Choice Triathlon Race Series 2012 events has just taken place on Sunday 15th April at Skipton. This early season event attracted a lot of interest with around 600 participants from across the North of England.

The Event was won by Rhys Davey in a time of 58 minutes 16 seconds. Rhys was 2nd out of the pool, 2nd fastest on the 20km bike leg and 1st fastest in the run to the finish line.  Many congratulations to Rhys.  2nd place was taken by Phil Goode of team All-Terrain Cycles with Jonty Bright of LTB Stif coming in 3rd just 45 seconds behind Goode.

The winning female was Heather Sellars from Leeds Met Triathlon Club beating team Winstanleys Bikes/Wakefield Triathlon Club member, Emma Wolff by a narrow 31 seconds with a time of 1:08:06. Harmonie Waterman from Holmfirth Harriers came 3rd just 1 minute 7seconds behind.

Stephen Schofield, Paul Craig, Paul Taylor and Andrew Knowles formed the winning team - TriClan, which is made up of experienced and competing triathlete’s from various parts of Lancashire.

Rhys Davey, Heather Sellars and team TriClan received their winner’s trophy and a bottle of Udo’s Choice Ultimate Oil Blend.

The Udo’s Choice Triathlon Race Series 2012 moves to Driffield on 20th May for another pool based triathlon – incorporating a 400 metre swim in the sports centres six lane pool.

Having completed the swim, competitors embark on the scenic 1 lap bike course, taking in some very scenic views. After returning from the bike course the run utilises the roads, paths and grassed areas around the sports centre. A multi lap run ensures the spectators enjoy watching the competitors complete the final discipline of the event.
