About Udo’s Choice Ultimate Oil Blend
Udo’s Choice Ultimate Oil Blend is a blend of organic, unrefined nutritional oils free of the constituents found in processed oils. Its unique formulation provides an excellent source of unprocessed, undamaged essential fatty acids Omega 3 and 6 in a 2:1 ratio that supports optimum health. Udo Erasmus spent many years perfecting this blend of flax, sesame, sunflower, coconut and evening primrose oil. Packaged in dark recyclable glass bottles to prevent any damage to ingredients.
Flax seed oil
Flaxseed oil is one of the richest sources of Omega 3 fatty acids, in the form of Alpha Linolenic Acid (ALA), which have been widely researched for health benefits, and can be lacking in the average western diet. ALA breaks down into the better-known fatty acids EPA and DHA (also found in fish oil). However, being plant sourced, Flaxseed oil is vegan friendly and has no fishy taste!
Sunflower seed oil
Sunflower Seed oil is high in Omega 6 fatty acid Linoleic Acid. Like with Omega 3, Omega 6 is an essential fatty acid, that we cannot synthesize it internally and must consume it to avoid deficiency. Sunflower Seed oil is also high in Vitamin E, a fat soluble vitamin and natural antioxidant, as well as numerous minerals.
Sesame seed oil
Sesame Seed oil is also rich in Omega 6 fatty acids. The Omega 6 fatty acids in the blend are providing undamaged, good quality Omega sources, in an effort to balance out processed, potentially harmful, omegas that may already be present in the diet. As with Sunflower oil, it is high in Vitamin E, but also B-complex vitamins and a long list of minerals.
Coconut Oil is a rich source of Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCT), including Lauric Acid and Caprylic Acid, which are broken down faster than longer chain fatty acids, and a great energy source. Coconut oil is also anti-fungal and anti-microbial.
Evening primrose oil
Evening Primrose oil is another high-quality form of Omega 6, and a source of Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA). Like the omegas above, GLA is utilised throughout many bodily tissues, and necessary for some hormone production.
Soy lecithin (GMO-free)
Soy Lecithin, sourced from non-genetically modified soy, contains phospholipids, such Phosphatidyl Choline, an important precursor to neuro-transmitters. Phospholipids are present in all cellular membranes. It can also act as an emulsifier, keeping ingredients mixed.
Rice bran and oat bran germ oils
The oils taken from the Rice and Oat germ are rich in minerals and antioxidants, as well as being a source of plant sterols. Plant or Phyto-sterols, can compete for absorption with dietary cholesterol.
Tocotrienol is a member of the Vitamin E family, and an antioxidant.
Antioxidants help preserve oils, but it is also important to refrigerate Udo’s Choice Ultimate Blend, as Omega oils are easily damaged by heat and sunlight.
